Just like Jade

The other morning Jade came home from work at Costco and put her hat and hairnet on the kitchen table. She works in the Deli and is required to wear the hairnet, which doesn't make for a very good hair day.

Along came Madeline. She picked up the hat and hairnet, put it on and exclaimed "look, I'm just like Jadie!" Hey mama, I'm Jadie now!"

I guess it just goes to show you never know who is watching you. . . .

Dear Family:

It has been so long since I wrote you a letter just to let you know I think about you and pray for you often. Perhaps is it my age of 91 (92 June 1) that I use as my excuse! I don’t do the things I used to do—now it is easier to sit down and read a book or watch television. I know that is an excuse for being just plain lazy! I still go to the Temple twice a week and get outside to garden once in a while, but my age is slowing me down!

Our ward has a “Preparedness Fair” today where we can go and can food from the St. George Cannery. I am going to help there, and also buy (and can) some of the dehydrated food. The Church is certainly trying to get families ready for the time when food buying will be difficult. I am glad Val and I know how to grow vegetables and fruit. I guess we could turn the golf course green belt into a garden—if we could find a source of water! I hope you are getting prepared with a year supply of food?

I send my love and blessings,

Grandma Ruth Swanson

Madeline is so cute. She can work at Costco when she gets older and Dane will be a garbage man. Sorry we missed you at Stephens's party. We will catch you this weekend at the Easter Hunt!
